Attorney General John Bruning would like to see the Lancaster County District Court deny a request to include two gambling initiatives on the November ballot.

His office filed a brief in the case that is looking to undo the secretary of state's denial because the current ballot issue resembles initiatives on the 2004 ballot.

Secretary of State John Gale's decision to not allow the question on the ballot was because the state constitution will not allow similar proposal more than once every three years.

Those in favor say the present casino initiative is different than those in 2004 and would not violate the limit.

A hearing is scheduled for next Thursday.
