Ultimate Flair Bartending Championship
Harrah's Carnaval Court welcomes the best flair bartenders from around the globe to contend for more than $50,000 in cash prizes in the annual international bartending competition, Ultimate Flair Bartending Championship (UFBC), June 4-7, 2007.
UFBC contestants flip, spin, throw, balance and catch bottles, drinks, and various bar staples as they compete in one of four divisions: professional, semi-professional, tandem or female. The bartenders go head to head in a series of preliminary events during the first two days of the competition to vie for a spot in the finals on the third day. The grand prize winner will be awarded $20,000 cash. A total of 15 cash prizes will be presented to the top finalists on June 7.
This year, the excitement begins early with UFBC pre-qualification rounds held in Carnaval Court every Monday during April and May. From 7-9 p.m., potential competitors can showcase their skills in the hopes of winning free, automatic entry into the UFBC finals.
The Smirnoff Vodka sponsored event is the nation's highest paying flair bartending competition and has gained popularity among flair bartenders because performances are judged on skill and creativity rather than technical proficiency, allowing each bartender to showcase their talent.
The schedule for the three-day event is as follows. Elimination Round: Tuesday June 5 from 10am-9pm; Semi-Finals: Wednesday June 6 from 10am-6pm; Finals: Thursday June 7 from 8pm-12 midnight. Tickets may be purchased online beginning in early May.
