South Dakota Attorney General Larry Long is being criticized for his explanation of a ballot measure that seeks to repeal video lottery.
The head of a group that collected signatures to put the issue to a statewide vote says it's misleading for Long to explain only that the measure would eliminate 112 (m) million dollars in state revenues each year.
Larry Brendtro says the ballot explanation is biased unless it also says the lost revenues amount to just four percent of the state budget.
He says that could be easily recovered without any increase in taxes.
A new law that went on the books July first instructs the attorney general to explain the simple effect of each ballot measure and any potential legal repercussions.
