Combine a country music legend with one of classic rock’s most respected bands then splash in a bit of southern flavor and you’ve got one great evening of entertainment as The Charlie Daniels Band and .38 Special team up for the “2008 Volunteer Jam Tour”. Charlie Daniels has been writing, playing and recording music since the 50’s. It wasn’t until the release of his 1979 hit, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” that Charlie and his band got the recognition they deserved. .38 Special was born in 1975 in Jacksonville, Florida. Two neighborhood friends Donnie Barnes and Donnie Van Zant brought together their love of southern blues-rock and recorded the hit singles, “Caught Up in You”, “Hold On Loosely” and “Back Where You Belong”
