Wednesday Texas Hold'em No Limit Poker Tournaments

Ante up!
Hollywood Casino is offering Texas Hold'Em No Limit Wednesday Poker Tournaments.
Over $8,500* in prize money!
$150 entry gets you $2,500 in tournament chips!
Blinds start at $25 & $50.

The buy-in for the Wednesday tournaments is $150.

PROCEDURES/PLAYER SELECTION PROCESS

WHEN: Between the hours of 9:00 am and 10:30 am.

WHERE: In front of the Studio Store.

HOW: Each person in line between the above hours will receive a numbered wristband. At 10:30 am from inside the Poker Room, a random number will be drawn between the beginning number (given out) and the ending number.

Registration begins at 10:45 am in front of the Buffet. All participants with the selected numbers will have 1 hour to register for the tournament. We will have 5 alternates in case someone does not register on time. A wristband will not be accepted if it is off the player’s wrist or tampered with. Loss of wristband will forfeit position.

EXAMPLE:
If the number drawn was 42, all participants with wristbands numbered 42-117 will be in the tournament, 118-122 will be alternates. If the number drawn is 280 and there were 300 wristbands given out, we would then count 20 more to 300 and finish with 1 through 55 to get the 75 players for the tournament. Player’s must be at their seats by 12:50 pm and the tournament will begin promptly at 1:00 pm.

Rules and Conditions

All of Hollywood Casino Aurora’s Poker Room rules will apply to tournament play, unless an exception is specifically mentioned. The decision of the tournament director will be final.

The date, time, entrance fee, amount of buy-in and the percentage of the prize monies will be posted prior to any entries are accepted.

The structure of the antes, blinds and forced bets will be made available in writing to entrants prior to the start of the tournament. Deviations from the approved structures such as straddle bets are prohibited.

No person will be permitted to take another entrant’s place or play his or her chips once that person has participated in play.

Anyone caught cheating will be disqualified, forfeit all claims to money prizes and their chips will be removed from play. An Illinois Dockside Agent will be notified immediately.

An absent player must be dealt a hand each deal and have antes, blinds and forced bets put in the pot from his/her stack as required. The Dealer will be responsible to ensure the proper amount of chips will be put in the pot.

An exposed card on the initial card dealt to each player shall constitute a misdeal.

If a player lacks sufficient tournament chips for a blind or a force bet, the player is entitled to get action on whatever amount of tournament chips they have remaining. A player who posts a short blind and wins does not need to make up the blind. When a player is all-in for less than the required forced bring-in or big blind, the remaining players will have the following options
a. Fold.
b. Complete the forced bring-in amount.

If the signal sounding the end of a round goes off, new limits apply on the next hand. A hand is said to have begun on the first riffle of the shuffle

Each table will have the number of players kept within two players of every other table. After the field is reduced to two tables, they should be kept within one player in size

Initial seating assignments are done by the player drawing a table and seat number when registering for the tournament. Players will again draw their seat and table assignment when they are transferred from one table to another. Players will redraw table and seat assignments in the same manner again when the field is reduced to a final table.

Players are eliminated when they have lost all their tournament chips. The winner is determined when one player remains at the table with all the tournament chips. The Tournament Director is the official timekeeper. The Tournament is over when one player remains at the final table with all the tournament chips.

A player moving into a seat that received a hand on the previous deal receives a hand immediately and assumes any obligations or benefits of the seat, including taking the small blind or button, or receiving the privilege of last-action. The only time a new player will be ineligible to receive a hand in the next deal is if he has moved to a seat that was not to play on the previous deal, and he is sitting in a seat that is between the second-largest blind and the button.

A player who declares himself all-in, loses the pot, and then discovers that one or more tournament chips were hidden is not entitled to benefit by the concealment. The Tournament Director will rule on each case. He/she will have the right to award the pot-winner the concealed money and declare the all-in player out of the tournament, if that seems like the result that would have occurred if no tournament chips had been concealed.

An odd tournament chip will be awarded to the player closest to the button starting at the left of the button.

If two or more players go broke on the same deal, the player starting the deal with the larger amount of tournament chips finishes in the highest tournament place.

At a game using the dealer-button, when a three-handed game loses a player, the player due for the big blind must take it. This means that a player may have to take the little blind twice in a row, or have to take the big-blind immediately after taking the little blind. Proper assignment of the big blind is more important. When two players are left, the small blind is on the button.

Decks of cards will be alternated prior to each round of play. Each round of play will be 20 minutes in length. Additional deck changes will be made only for defective cards.

All prize money will be awarded directly to the player who wins it.

Maximum of 80 players.

Single Table No Limit Hold ‘Em may also be offered for a $90 entry. Winner gets $500, 2nd prize $250.

Hollywood Casino Aurora reserves the right to set aside a predetermined amount of spots on a complimentary basis for select patrons.

*Final prize pool determined by total number of entrants.
