WEEKS CONJURES WIN IN WITCHES’ BREW Wednesday, October 31, 2007 Weeks, ridden by Stewart Elliott, rallied three-wide to win the featured $55,000 Witches’ Brew Stakes on Halloween night at the Meadowlands. An annual tradition, along with the Grey Ghost Handicap, the Witches’ Brew is a five-furlong race for fillies and mares on the turf. Weeks out-sprinted the tenacious Beau Dare to win by a head in :57. She paid $13.40. Robin Des Tune set the pace and fought gamely to finish ¾ -length behind in third.
