CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- A Weirton woman and her father won a total of $75,000 by claiming the three top prizes in the Cash 25 lottery game on July 4 -- but neither of them knew the other one was playing.
Charity Guiddy claimed two $25,000 prizes, using a set of family birth dates.
About five years ago, using a different set of numbers, she won the top prize as well.
West Virginia Lottery spokeswoman Nancy Bulla says this is the first time the same person has won the top prize three times.
Also on July 4, Charity's father, Paul Guiddy, claimed a third $25,000 prize. He had asked Charity some time ago if he could use her numbers, but neither of them knew the other was playing the July 4 drawing.
Charity says she suspected her father was the third winner, but didn't know for sure until she talked with another relative.
The winning numbers were 5-7-8-14-17-and-19. |
