WEST WARWICK, R.I. (AP) -- West Warwick\'s Town Council votes to approve a development agreement with Harrah\'s Entertainment.
The board decided 3-to-2 last night to ratify the deal. The agreement dictates how much money the community would receive in casino revenues if voters approve the proposal next week.
The town council\'s expected to sign the agreement later this morning.
Some residents say the deal is not generous enough to neighbors of the proposed casino. They fear a loss of property value.
Harrah\'s would give 750-thousand dollars to offset property value loss.
The agreement also calls for Harrah\'s to loan the town five (M) million dollars if the casino referendum is approved.
Voters on Tuesday will decide whether to amend the state Constitution to allow the casino, which would be operated by the Narragansett Indian Tribe and Harrah\'s Entertainment.
