Windance being sold
Windance Country Club of Gulfport is being sold to the owners of Island View Casino.
"The board unanimously approved the sale and the stockholders overwhelmingly approved the sale," said club president Craig Sartin.
Sartin said he could not disclose the details of the sales contract with casino owners Rick Carter and Terry Green, but he hopes to see the deal close within a month.
Carter said he and his partner plan to buy the country club and golf course privately and then sell it to Island View about 90 days later. This allows the partners to cut through some of the red tape with the casino's financiers, he said.
"Our plans are to leave it as a country club, to upgrade it and invest some money in it and bring it back up to its glory," said Carter.
Carter expects to keep the existing membership of the club and use it for special casino guests.
