After winning a cool $250,000 in the South Carolina lottery Tuesday, Harold Gray won't be moving to Easy Street; he'll be moving back to his old address on Lottery Lane in Port Royal.
Gray bought a scratch-off ticket at the Lady's Island Citgo and hit the taxes-paid jackpot. Now the 49-year-old Port Royal native who lives on Frederick Place Circle, a street up from Lottery Lane in Port Royal, plans to move back to the street where his mother and his sister live.
"I used to live on (Lottery Lane)," Gray said. "We're going to move back there and buy a house."
Gray said he'll spend his winnings on paying off bills and then put the rest into a retirement fund.
"I'm going to keep working ... I'm going to try not to let it interrupt my life that much," Gray, a daily scratch-ticket player and a self-employed contractor with The Handyman Service, said.
But he might splurge a little and take his wife on a weekend getaway.
"We might take a cruise," Gray said. "I have no idea where -- somewhere local, somewhere cheap."
