Wolfgang Puck, Michael Mina plan restaurants for new MGM Grand Detroit casino

DETROIT - Celebrity chefs Wolfgang Puck and Michael Mina plan to open restaurants this fall at the new MGM Grand Detroit casino.
Mina is planning a high-end seafood restaurant called Saltwater and a modern celebration of beef called Bourbon Steak, while Puck will open Wolfgang Puck Grille, with casual and fine-dining cuisine, the Detroit Free Press reported.
"MGM Grand Detroit's culinary standard will be equal to the country's finest venues," MGM Grand Detroit President George Boyer said.
The restaurants at the hotel-casino complex are expected to open in the fall.
Detroit's three casinos include the MGM Grand, Motor City Casino and Greektown Casino. All are building permanent homes with hotels.
On Thursday, MotorCity opened its new Signature Club and high stakes area to the public. It's a small portion of the permanent MotorCity facility.
"It kind of looks like Las Vegas," said Linda Darnell, of Grand Rapids. "Nice and open. It looks like they're building Detroit up and we've got company coming from Minnesota in a couple of weeks and we can't wait to bring them down here."
