Poker players from around the World traveled to the United States earlier this year to test their skills against the best players around in the WSOP in Las Vegas, now it is the American players who have to make the trip out of country as the first annual WSOP Europe has begun.
Players have put up pounds sterling 10,000 per entry into the main event. All the big names have entered including Chan, Cunningham, Gordon, Harmon, Negreanu, Lederer, and of course, Hellmuth.
In the first two events, Europeans took home the bracelets with Dario Alioti of Italy capturing the Pot Limit Omaha crown, and Thomas Bihl of Germany winning the HORSE tournament.
Three casinos operated by London Clubs International are the hosts for the main event. The casinos are Fifty on St. James Street, The Sportsman at Marble Arch, and The Casino at the Empire on Leicaster Square.
The field of players is one of the strongest in European history and will almost guarantee some phenomenal hands of Poker. There are two starting days for the main event as opposed to the four starting days that the series in Las Vegas held. There are over 350 players that have entered into the main event, but only one will go home as the WSOP Europe main event champion. |
