VIRGINIA BEACH Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! But not on the beach. With the advent of tourist season, it's worth knowing that you can't get soused on the sand. Last year, at least 228 people were charged with having glass or alcohol on the beach, according to a database of state Supreme Court records. They faced fines.

VIRGINIA BEACH A Virginia Beach man won $100,000 last week in a Virginia Lottery Cash 5 drawing. At first, Jerry Pettersson thought he had won $100 in the May 19 night drawing and was frustrated because the store where he bought the ticket wouldn’t cash it, a Virginia Lottery news release says. He then realized that he had won the drawing’s top prize.
