An Ellensburg man is accused of beating his girlfriend's two children so severely both are in a Seattle hospital.

ELLENSBURG—An Ellensburg man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly beating his girlfriend's 4-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son several times over the past two weeks. The girlfriend also was arrested.

ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) — Every year, members of the Eaton family, who ranch about 15 miles southeast of Ellensburg, recreate an Old West tradition with a real cattle drive. Family members on horseback drive cattle 5 or 6 miles on the Yakima river Canyon Highway, also known as Highway 821. The herd grazes from early November on Manastash Ridge and in the Burbank and Selah Creek drainages.
