Update: The Proposed Star Lake Resort & Casino was officially cancelled by the White Earth Business Committee during a special meeting that took place on Friday, 31st August, 2018.

On September 25, 2015 the White Earth Nation enterprise of Shooting Star Casino, Hotel and Entertainment announced plans for a third casino, this one to be built on Star Lake Minnesota. The location is on County Highway 41, south of 380th Street (aka Peterson Point Road/Spruce Lodge Road/Camp Joy Road, on Lodge Loop Road.
The casino is projected to open late fall 2018.
Recent reports indicate that in addition to a gambling facility, the project reportedly includes an 180-room hotel, full-service bar and grill, restaurant, a 10,000-square-foot conference center, 6,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor pool and spa area, gift shop, entertainment lounge, RV park, as many as 850 slot machines and other amenities.
Full hotel accommodations as well as a concert venue and more are available at the tribe's flagship Shooting Star Casino Hotel in Mahnomen.
