For the last twenty years, the Missouri State Lottery has been making millionaires and it does not appear that they will be stopping anytime soon. All avid lottery players should take advantage of the fun and excitement the Missouri Lottery has to offer each and every time the chance presents itself. If daily games are your thing, there is the Pick 3 game which uses three numbers. Pick 4 uses four numbers and Show Me 5 Paydown uses five numbers. If once a day isn’t enough for you, there is now Club Keno where there is a drawing every five minutes.

If becoming a millionaire is what you’re really after, then you want to be playing for the huge lottery jackpots. Lotto jackpots start at a million bucks ($1 million) and PowerBall lottery jackpots start at fifteen million dollars ($15 million).

Missouri Pick 3 Lotto

The Missouri Pick 3 lottery is one of the easiest lotto games to play and there are many different ways to play your numbers meaning there are many different ways to win money. Every day and every evening, pick 3 lotto players can win up to six hundred dollars ($600).

To play this lottery, simply get some numbers in mind and let’s go get a lotto play slip. Quick Picks are an option players can take advantage of. A quick pick selection will have your numbers randomly selected by a computer.

In pick 3 lotto, players can wager as little as fifty cents ($0.50). There are many ways to play your numbers so let’s go over them real quick.

The options lottery players have on how to play their numbers are as follows:

Lottery players can play their numbers for a straight meaning they will have to match all three numbers in the exact order they are drawn. This is the most difficult way to win, but lottery players win the most money by playing and winning this way. The odds of winning this way are 1:1,000, but on a one dollar ($1) wager a player can win six hundred dollars ($600).

Players can choose to box their numbers if they would like to increase their odds of winning. Boxing their numbers means they can match the winning numbers in any order. If the player chooses to play their numbers boxed and the winning numbers contain a pair of numbers among them, your odds of matching them are 1:333 and you will win two hundred dollars ($200) if you hit it. If your numbers do not contain any duplicates, the odds of you matching them are 1:167 and you will win a hundred dollars ($100) if you match them.

Lottery players may decide to play both straight and boxed by marking the appropriate area on the play slip where it says straight/box. The wager costs one dollar ($1) and it is essentially two bets. Fifty cents ($0.50) on a straight bet and the same on a box bet. The advantage being that you now have more ways to win and if you win straight you win both bets. If you win a 3 way, which is when the winning numbers contain a pair you will win four hundred dollars ($400) if you match them exact and a hundred dollars ($100) if you match them boxed. If you win 6 way, which is when the numbers are all unique, you will win three hundred and fifty dollars ($350) if you match them straight and fifty dollars ($50) if you match them boxed.

A combination play is a one dollar ($1) straight bet on every combination those numbers can have. If all of your numbers are unique such as 123 or 739, there are six different combinations those three numbers could be in. A 6 way combo ticket would cost six dollars ($6). If your numbers come up, you will win six hundred dollars ($600). You will win the same amount if you match a 3 way combo. A 3 way combo ticket would cost three dollars ($3) because the numbers would contain a pair such as 449 or 828 and there would be three different combinations for those three digits to fall.

Lottery players who think three numbers are one too many may decide to play pairs. By selecting two numbers and choosing whether to play the front pair or the back pair. The numbers must be matched in the exact order they were drawn, but players who do match them will win sixty dollars ($60) if the wager was a dollar. The odds of matching the two numbers in the exact order they were drawn are 1:100.

Remember that you can play your numbers on either the mid day drawing, the evening drawing or both and you can also play your numbers for up to fifteen consecutive drawings by selecting the multi draw feature.

The Missouri Pick 4 Lottery

The Missouri Pick 4 lotto is very much like the pick 3 lotto, however there are some differences. The first and most obvious difference being there being four numbers drawn instead of three. Players can still wager either fifty cents ($0.50) or a dollar ($1), but now they can win up to six thousand dollars ($6,000) for that dollar wager.

Players can win that six thousand dollars ($6,000) by either placing a one dollar ($1) straight bet or by purchasing a four dollar ($4), six dollar ($6), twelve dollar ($12) or twenty four dollar ($24) pick 4 combo ticket. Remember the combo ticket? That’s a one dollar ($1) wager on all the straight combinations possible with the numbers you have chosen.

In Pick 4 lotto, lottery players have four different prize categories to win money from when playing their numbers boxed. The hardest numbers to hit and consequently the best paying box numbers are numbers that contain a three of a kind. If three of your four numbers are the same, there are only four different ways those numbers can show up in. The odds of a lotto player hitting all four numbers in any order at all when they contain a three of a kind are 1:2,500. A 4 way box win will pay you fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500).

If your numbers consist of two pairs of numbers such as 3399 or 3883, there are six different ways those numbers can show up. Your odds of winning get a bit better at 1:1,667 and you can win a thousand dollars ($1,000).

A 12 way box consists of one pair among your winning numbers like 1198 or 1741. One pair out of four means there are twelve different ways those numbers could fall. The odds of a set of numbers like this matching and winning five hundred dollars ($500) are 1:833.

There are twenty four different winning combinations for four unique digits to be in. When a players winning numbers consist of such a number, the odds of them winning are 1:417 and they stand to win two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) if they do. This win is referred to as a 24 way box.

Lottery players may choose to maximize the number of ways they can win by playing both straight and box. A straight/box play will allow you to win both straight and boxed. Because of the better odds, you end up sacrificing some of the prize money, but it is still a nice chunk of change.

The 24 way straight/box play will pay a hundred and twenty five dollars ($125) won as a box or three thousand, one hundred and twenty five dollars ($3,125) won straight. The 12 way straight/box play will pay a lucky player two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) if it is matched as a box and three thousand more ($3,250) matched straight. Three thousand and five hundred dollars ($3,500) becomes yours if a 6 way straight/box gets matched straight. Boxed will pay five hundred dollars ($500). A 4 way straight/box play pays the best at three thousand, seven hundred and fifty dollars ($3,750) won straight. Boxed it is only seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750).

Pairs and sets of three numbers can be played in Pick 4. Pairs can be played for a sixty dollar ($60) cash prize on a one dollar wager. Pairs play consists of choosing the front pair, back pair or the middle pair and matching them in exact order. Your odds of winning this way are 1:100.

The front three numbers or the back three numbers can be played as well for a six hundred dollar ($600) cash prize. The numbers must be matched exactly and the odds of doing so are 1:1,000.

The game of pick 4 is pretty straight forward. It’s easy to win money and fun as well. That’s the point isn’t it? Pick 4 drawings are held both mid day and evening right after the pick 3 drawings. Seven days a week at 12:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

The Show Me 5 Paydown Daily Lottery

There is no doubt about it. If you are playing the lottery in Missouri, which you should be, you should definitely be playing the Show Me 5 Paydown lottery. Now, you want to know what’s so great about this lottery game?
