Caesars Palace Casino Review

Just about everyone who has thought of coming to Las Vegas knows about Caesars Palace. It’s a historic casino that’s held many marquee events over the decades. Back in the 80’s when the Grand Prix was running in Las Vegas, it was held at Caesars Palace. It’s also home to the famous shopping mall, The Forums. The Forums are acclaimed as the “Shopping Wonder of the World”. For over thirty-five years, Caesars Palace has been amazing guests and raising the bar for casinos in Las Vegas. It’s located right in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Caesars Palace is home to twenty-four eateries.

Perhaps you have heard of Elton John? Of course you have and there’s only one place in Las Vegas to catch his Red Piano show—Caesars Palace. Elton John signed a very large deal to perform extremely often solely at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. If you love Elton John or want to see a big name performance while in Las Vegas, Caesars Palace is your spot. Appropriately, Elton John performs his Red Piano show in The Colosseum.
As mentioned earlier, Caesars Palace is home to twenty-four places to eat and countless bars. Whether you are in the mood for casual drinking, a bar experience, quick eating or a fine dining experience, Caesars Palace has you covered. One popular bar attraction is Cleopatra’s Barge. This must-see bar is an ornate replica of the graceful craft that transported Egyptian royalty along the Nile in the times of Julius Caesar. Cleopatra’s Barge features a DJ, dance floor and a fully stocked bar.

Poker at Caesars Palace

Caesars Poker Room

Many players, including plenty of professionals and celebrities, call the poker room at Caesars Palace "home". The room is actually a private room segregated from the casino floor and there are more tables here than you could count on a busy night. The data tells us there are  62 tables in all here. Tournaments seem to be exclusively No Limit Hold'em games but you will find mixed games on occasion. The main room is 8,500 square feet and the adjacent tournament room is 6,000 square feet. Play cash games at all stakes 24/7 or get in on a tournament at this classic Las Vegas poker room.

Caesars Poker Room is also a luxurious, smoke-free poker room making it one of our favorites on the Strip.  The fully-enclosed room is located between the nightclub Pure and the sportsbook and offers 29 tables of cash games and another 33 tables in the adjacent tournament room.

The room spreads a variety of low and middle limit and NL games (no max buy-in) and multiple daily tournaments.  The daily tourneys have excellent structures with starting chip stacks and level times that offer a generous amount of play (see the Items of Interest for structures).  Caesars' tourneys are among the most popular in Las Vegas, typically drawing 50-100 entrants; see the schedule above.  In April, Caesars hosts a WSOP circuit series and in October, the room hosts the Caesars Palace Classic, a tournament series that culminates with a $1,000,000 guaranteed event.

Waitlists are posted electronically on two LCD screens; it's very easy for players to see their position on the waitlist.  Players can call ahead to get on the list (up to an hour ahead) for their desired game.  On any given night, 15-20 ring games will be running with an average wait of 10 minutes.

The floor staff members are friendly and professional; they do an excellent job of clearing lists and making sure players are seated in their preferred game.  Dealers, too, are pleasant and efficient; unlike some of those we've seen at other casinos, they actually seem to like their job and work to keep play moving and enjoyable.

The elegantly appointed room has high quality tables (with auto-shufflers) and chairs (comfortable, wheeled) and well-maintained carpets and room fixtures.  There are 14 plasma screens throughout the main room; the tournament room has another 10 screens.

Caesars serves restaurant quality food at the tables (ask for a menu) and free drinks.  Players accrue comps at a rate of $1/hour of live play; the comps are good at any Harrahs porperty.  The current poker room rates are $139/weekdays and $229/weekends.

Limit Holdem
NL Holdem
