Derby Lane Racetrack & Poker Review

Derby Lane held its grand inaugural race on January 3, 1925 and is the oldest continuously operating greyhound track anywhere in the World. The venue is still owned by the family of the original land owner and second  owner of the track, T.L. Weaver. Located at 10490 Gandy Boulevard, in Saint Petersburg, Florida, Derby lane is now also host to a 55 table poker room open 7 days a week and 24 hours on weekends.

Live evening races are held 6 times each week  Monday through Saturday at 7:30pm, and Live matinee racing happens every Wednesday and Saturday at 12:30pm. The simulcast betting can be done personal and attended totes throughout the property. There are more than 50 large flat screen TVs in the simulcast center on the 4th floor of the Derby Club.

Gaming at Derby Lane

Live greyhound racing has been happening here sine 1925 so come out and enjoy year round track fun 6 days a week. Monday through Saturday the dogs daily with the first race at 7:30pm. Wednesday and Saturday there are Matinee performances beginning at 12:30pm.

This Derby Club simulcast area offers wagering on top greyhounds, thoroughbreds, harness, and jai-alai events from all over the country 7 days a week, There are  over 50 large flat screen TVs as well as  personal betting carrels.

Derby Lane Poker Room

The Derby Lane poker room has 50 tables and is open 7 days a week from 9am to 3am Monday through Thursday and 24 hours on weekends.  The room is located on the mezzanine level of the Derby Lane greyhound racetrack, adjacent to the Gallery Lounge food court.

The Derby Club Restaurant is situated on the sixth floor of the Derby Club and offers a great view of the racetrack with comfortable seating. Open on race days the Derby Club serves a matinee buffet and an evening buffet. The earlier sitting will give you choices of such delights as crepes and other brunch and luncheon items. The evening buffet pulls out all the stops and offers prime rib, crab, shrimp, and dozens of other delectables.

Gallery Lounge

The Gallery Lounge at Derby Lane is located on the west side of the mezzanine and offers s nicely decorated venue to enjoy simulcast racing, mixilogical specials including shaken, not stirred martinis, and a casual menu selection of light fare. Personal and attended totes are available for your convenience and there are plenty of personal carels and big screens. Gallery Lounge is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11:30am to close.

Poker Room Deli

The Derby Lane Poker Room Deli is located on the ground floor of the Derby Club in the middle of all the poker action at Derby Lane Poker. Overlooking the greyhound track as well, the deli offers daily specials for food and drinks in addition to what you will see on the regular a la carte menu. THe deli serves food until 1:15am seven days a week and opens at 10am every day except Sunday (11am). Try the great pressed sandwiches or a specialty quesadilla or wrap.

Keep an eye out for daily specials that are as pleasing to the pocketbook as they are to the palate. Derby Club Four is open 7 days a week from 11:30am until closing.
