Magic City Casino is owned and operated by the Alabama-based Poarch Band of Creek Indians, who in Feb. 2023 purchased the casino from the Havenick family which had owned it for more than 71 years. The venue is located at 450 Northwest 37th Avenue, just 5 minutes from Miami International Airport, and five minutes from Downtown Miami. That puts you about 15 minutes from the South Beach area and 25 minutes from Fort Lauderdale. The casino was added to the former Flagler Dog Track in October of 2009 and now has more than 800 Las Vegas-style slot machines and some electronic multi-player craps and roulette games. The poker room is open seven days a week and features 19 tables spreading the most popular games such as limit and no-limit Hold'em, Omaha, and 7 Stud. Dining options include The Sports Cub and casino concessions as well as racetrack seasonal concessions.

Big changes are reportedly coming to the property, as the now-shuttered dog track and its 30 acres of property could be home to a luxury resort adjacent to the casino, and include the addition of shopping centers and “experience-oriented attractions."

The Magic City Poker Room can be described as hot in more ways than one. There is always a hot promotion,  the tables are
always hot, and the drink service is brought to you by some very lovely ladies. Most of the time you're looking at No-Limit and Limit Texas Hold’em cash games, daily sit 'n goes, and tournaments but they will spread Omaha Hi-Lo or Seven Stud upon request, with the occasionally scheduled Pot Limit Omaha Hi tournament.

Open everyday from 10am until 4am, and until 5am on weekends, there are 19 tables.
