Lodging at Golden Gate Hotel & Casino
Positioned amid the Fremont Street Experience is the landmark Golden Gate Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas, Nev. Built in 1906 and boasting its status as the oldest and smallest hotel on Fremont Street, this property is four miles from the Las Vegas Strip and eight miles from Sam Boyd Stadium.
The shrimp cocktail famously originated at the property and is still offered at the San Francisco and Shrimp Bar. The local favorite Bay City Diner serves American fare, while wine, beer and cocktails are featured at the Hotel Bar. A baby grand piano graces the center of the casino floor, which features table games and slot machines. Amenities include business services and a gift shop.
The 106 guestrooms contain mahogany finished furnishings, upholstered armchairs, framed prints, floral patterned bedspreads and décor in tones of deep red, black and cream. Each includes cable television and dial up Internet access. Pets are not permitted.
