The billionaire founder of Reebok, Paul Fireman has been in the planning stages with local officials since 2013 to bring a mega-resort complex to the northern edge of his $250 million Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City, New Jersey. The project's current working name is Liberty Rising and would include a 90 story luxury hotel with 1,500 rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a theater and full scale casino.
The $4 billion complex to be located at 100 Caven Point Road in an area currently used for golf course parking. The resort would have ferry service connecting New York City, just across the Hudson River.
For his casino plans to have any chance of success New Jersey voters will need to pass a ballot referendum in November 2016 authorizing two casinos in the northern part of the state.
