PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A bill was introduced to the House of Representatives yesterday that will let voters decide on the future of the Newport Grand slot parlour, the Providence Journal reported.

By Thomas J. Morgan PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The House Committee on Finance has scheduled a hearing Feb. 29 on a bill that would allow Newport Grand to offer casino gambling. The measure, if adopted, would require voter approval statewide and also the assent of the city of Newport at the next general election. The hearing will begin in Room 35 at the State House upon the rise of the House.
