The casino at Ocean Downs Racetrack is located in Berlin, Maryland. The original race track opened on July 25, 1949 and the new casino opened on January 4, 2011. After its most recent expansion/remodel (2017), the facility currently has 70,000 square feet of gaming space with 900 slot machines and 10 gaming tables. The casino is open 24 hours a day and is owned and operated by Ocean Enterprises, LLC.
Ocean Downs is a non-smoking facility but they do offer a Smoking Atrium with slot machines for those who choose to smoke.
The race track and simulcast facilities continue to operate and the income from the casino helps feed larger purses which attract some of the best horses, trainers, and jockeys in the nation. Races are run on Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday with the occasional special race day on Saturday. First post time is 7:20pm.

Gaming at Casino at Ocean Downs
The Casino at Ocean Downs has breathed new life into this venerable institution. Now there are 900 electronic gaming machines, mostly slots and video poker, with quite a few electronic table games as well. They range in denomination from a penny to $25. The casino now has 70,000 square feet of gaming space, with everything from 3 reel winners to multiline 5 reel machines with progressive jackpots. The live table offering includes player favorites such as Blackjack, Roulette and Craps along with Mississippi Stud, Ultimate Texas Hold'em and others.
In addition to seasonal live harness racing June through September at Ocean Downs there is simulcast wagering on live races from around the country 7 days a week. Except for special race days such as the Preakness, or venues like Churchill Downs which start at 10:30, most live racing begins shortly after noon. Must be 18 years of age or older to bet the horses.
The casino offers a Smoking Patio with slots for smokers.

With pari-mutuel betting in the 1940's came an explosion of race tracks around the country and Ocean Downs went under construction in 1947 and was completed and opened in 1949. It's been a big draw throughout the years for live racing. The addition of simulcast racing makes the venue good to go even on non-race days as people come in to bet on live races from around the country as if they were at distant race tracks.
