Santa Fe Casino - Northern Las Vegas
The Santa Fe was built for the locals and mainly locals play there. It is located in the northern section of Las Vegas, just off the I-15 freeway. One word of caution; don’t be fooled by the “minutes from the Strip” sales talk. It can take 20-30 minutes via vehicle to get to the Las Vegas Strip from the Santa Fe depending on the time of day or night you go. Downtown Las Vegas is closer—in fact you would pass it on your way to the Strip. The Santa Fe is out of the way, which can be great if you want to see the residential side of Las Vegas.
Dining options at the Santa Fe are somewhat limited when compared to the big casinos on the Strip. The Santa Fe has the traditional steak house, a food court, a coffee shop and a Mexican restaurant—it is called Santa Fe after all. The main component lacking at the Santa Fe is a buffet. The food is decent, but it won’t knock your socks off. The Santa Fe tends to focus on a friendly atmosphere for their customers.
The Santa Fe has many entertainers that pass through its doors. While there won’t be the usual headliners found on the Strip, you will find the typical Vegas lounge acts here. The Santa Fe also features a bowling alley and an ice rink—something you might be shocked to see in Vegas. If you have kids, drop them off at Kid Quest so you can do some serious gaming. Afterwards, the family can get back together and go see a movie in the Santa Fe movie theatre. Overall, you should find the Santa Fe to be a pleasant experience.
