Wind Creek Hospitality, the principal gaming and hospitality entity for the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, broke ground on its $440 million Wind Creek Chicago Southland casino in early June 2022. The planned casino is located directly off of Interstate 80 near Halsted Street and 175th Street, about a 30-minute drive south of Chicago and near the Indiana state line. 

This gaming destination will reportedly include a 16-story, 252-room and suite luxury hotel with an indoor pool, fitness center and spa, a 35,000 square foot conference and banquet facility, a 15,800 square foot state-of-the-art entertainment center, three restaurants, two bars and a Skyline Lounge. The 70,000-square-foot casino will feature 1,350 slot machines, 56 table games and is anticipated to open in July 2024, after initial opening projections of mid-2023 or early 2024.

The coming Wind Creek casino is only 15 minutes west of Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, which opened on May 14, 2021. 

Wind Creek manages 10 premier gaming properties in Alabama, Florida, Nevada, Pennsylvania and the Caribbean.
