We stayed couple of days in December 09. Travelocity does not disclose additional fees that you will pay at this hotel. We paid $* for "resort pass" that was not disclosed during purchase, nor while checking-in. We learned about this at check out. There was only one restaurant open in the evening at the "resort" and the food was prepared outright bad. Although the waitresses outnumbered the customers that night, the service was also dismal to say the least. If you have any allergies stay away from this restaurant since the waitresses have no clue what ingredients are used in preparation of the food. Otherwise the location near the lake is nice. Last thing - lock your door before the last night from inside. At 8am in the morning on the check-out day the cleaning staff goes from to room to room and opens the doors without knocking! When we pointed out to the front desk - this seemed normal to them... BTW, the checkout time is noon!

We made a trip to this resort on May 16 and stayed there for a night. We have no complains regarding the resort, food or anything else. Everything was good. I have a complain regarding pricing on online travel website for ""The Abbey Resort and Spa"". I paid $*** on online travel website for a room (Resort view King). Accidently Resort people charged my credit card for $*** at the time of check out. When I asked the explanation they told me that it is the room price for a night. Then I realized the real price for the room is $*** but on online travel website it is $***. I felt real bad about it that this web-site is charging more than Resort itslef. I will not book anything from this website again.

Great resort. The Spa was fantastic and staff very well trained in massage therapy. I only wished the had a fireplace in our room. The quality of the food in the two resturants we tried in the resort, were great. Our waiter in the grill room, was a little condescending, that we didn't appreciate, The rest of the wait staff everywhere else were very pleasant and professional. The town of Lake Geneva was very pleasant and the fall colors were absolutely gorgeous!! We would even just go back for a day at the Avani Spa!!

The Abbey is a short, pleasant drive from Chicago. First impression was great. The lobby, public areas and grounds are beautiful. We were there out of season so the outdoor activities were not open and some restaurants/bars were also closed but the resort is gorgeous, the spa is amazing and the indoor pool was fine. Dinner at Fontana Grill was excellent and well worth the price. Room was great, nicely decorated and immaculately clean. Beds are very high and mattress was comfortable. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. It was perfect for a 3day/2night spring break get away. We plan to return during Summer or Fall to enjoy the outdoor activities and other amenities.
