The hotel is very nice and the staff is friendly but OMG I was charged twice for the room....they immediately reversed the second charge, but after I got home, I was checking my bank account and my debit card was charged THREE TIMES for fees that I have no idea what they were for....so I called them and they were supposed to reverse the charges and today I checked my bank account and I was charged FIVE TIMES for fees that I did not incur....watch out for this....too much inconvenience for me to stay there again.

The Ambassador Hotel was great. It is a quaint, warm and friendly place in the heart of New Orleans. When I booked the room I did so because it was inexpensive and did not know what I might find. What I found was a place that from the frond desk to amenities was top-rate. The room had wonderful wide wooden plank floors and one of the walls was old brick. Care had been taken with the old building. The decor was also period and fit the room. Attached to the hotel was a wonderful resturant. I ate at the resturant and the food was as good as any I had had in New Orleans. I am a freguent trveller to the city. I definitely will add the Ambassador to my list of places to which to return. The only suggestion for improvement, would for the resturant to be open for breakfast. The staff though were very knowledgable about the city and directed us to a great eatery close by.

This hotel was very nice. It was elegant and everything about it was New Orleans! The decor was so pretty, old, but very classy. 6 blocks from Bourbon. I would definitely recommend.

Discourteous, inexperienced...at best, indifferent Staff. They claimed to have internet service in the room. I needed it to send an important file to work. Upon arrival they told me I did have wireless in my room. I'm pretty computer savy...no wireless signal. Then, I informed them of this and they said "oh yeah....no wireless on your side of the building...but we do have wired". Then they gave me a 12 inch ethernet cable!! I knew it wouldn't reach but they actually argued with me about it??!!?? Went back to the room., set my computer on the floor and plugged in......dead as a doornail. Went to tell them at the front desk. They could have cared less. TV did not work shower handle would not stay on (got a nice knot on my foot from it falling off during a shower). 2 of the 4 lamps in the room did not work the light in the bathroom made a very erie buzz/shorting sound like you here in a horror movie. the room was dark, dingy and in a bad state of repair the furniture was in horrible condition - like they got it at a bad garage sale Motel 6 is many cuts above this place thank god I did this trip solo and didn't have my significant other with me.... It was expensive to boot!!!! bar attached but no restaurant or even coffee available in the morning randomly spoke to other guests who were also dumbfounded by the poor quality/experience STAY CLEAR OF THIS TRAP
