This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The furnishing are magnificent. The rooms are very comfortable and extremely clean and well kept. The price is the best in Charleston. The location is within walking distance to most of the sights in town. The staff, especially the manager ABC, was so helpful in explaining the sights and recommending resturants. All the recommendations were exceptional food and they even made our reservations for us. The continental breakfast and the afternoon cheese and wine were wonderful to start your day and end it on a very relaxing touch. All of the employee's were helpful and very curtious. I would recommend the Ansonbourgh to anyone visiting Charleston. A must stay while in town.

This was definitely the highlight of our 2 week road trip. We called to make a reservation and from that point to check out the staff was superb. After a lot of walking the spacious rooms are great for relaxing.

We LOVED this inn - the room was BEAUTIFUL! Great breakfast! Great location! We would stay there again in a heartbeat! They were even nice enough to let us drop off our luggage for them to store a week later so we could do more touring!!!

My wife and I decided to stay somewhere different in Charleston for a Valentine's Day getaway. We had never stayed at the Ansonborough, and thought we'd give it a shot. It was horrible. First, the room we got was OK, but the bathroom was not as they described - at all. The hotel staff wasn't the friendliest, and the beer cans left in the hall weren't something I expected to see. The rooftop bar??? Non-existent. Just a couple of beams showing the skeleton of where is used to be. We decided to upgrade rooms to try to make ourselves happier. The room was very nice - bathroom was as the other was advertised, but waking up to the sound of construction in the room next to us was not expected. Look, maybe this hotel will be a great find one day, but there is no way you should spend the money on this place now. There are much nicer hotels and better deals in Charleston. Stay away from here.
