We stayed at the Aqua Bamboo in mid-June 2010....(Sorry for the delay in sending my comments.) I thought the hotel was very quaint, immaculate, and with nicely-done updated rooms. We had a fantastic room for 2 nights (standard) but clean. The room was quiet (we were on 7th floor). We arrived 2 days earlier than expected and was accommodated without delay. Hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Went back to Aqua Bamboo 5 days later and we were upgraded to the 10th floor, with a 2 bedroom, exquisite suite at no extra cost for 4 more nights. I would highly recommend and have recommended this hotel to my fellow employees (airline employees) and others. We got a fantastic rate for booking in advance. Would definitely stay there again! Three short blocks to the beach which took us all of 4 minutes to walk.

The pictures look so nice but this place was very shabby. It's basically a converted apartment building, very old. The worst party of my experience was the parking situation. My first night there I was told that the parking was full and told to park next door. I found myself in a dimly lit parking garage with no elevator so I was by myself at 9:30pm at night going down a stairwell, not safe at all! Then I was given a parking code for the garage across the street which was so small, with no room to manuever, I'm not kidding. The only positive was the staff was friendly here. Accomodations were disappointing. Next time I'm paying more for a bigger hotel such as the hilton or Moana Surfrider. I don't recommend this place.

This is a great find for being right in the heart of Wiakiki! The rooms are small and simple but certainly nice. The beds and linen are lovely and comfy! The courtyard with pool, hot tub, and multiple cabanna provided enough space and/or privacy for everyone - it has has a quiet, secluded and natural feel to it....chill and cozy! The lobby has a nice amount of shared spaces, couches chairs etc. - a good place to tend to some work, do some reading, plan an excursion. The staff.... the staff was awesome - very nice people doing their jobs but not pretentious at all.

I was on edge planning for a great get away for my husbands BIG SIX O ! he loves hawaii so that is where i was focused on. after thinking reviewinginquriing about travel packages i decided on travel online vacation package. now to decide on a place to stay?? again i reviewed and read all comments pertaining to hotels and such. i narrowed it down to two places that i find would fit our needs and lifestyle. finally decided on aqua bamboo b/c i liked the name theme and all it has to offer. i assured my husband it may not be the best but location was key! when we arrived i was thrilled and surprised by the appearance and capable staff. immediately i was offered two cold bottles of water- what a refreshing start! when we went to our room i was amazed pleased with the decor and kitchette. there were even two aqua bathrobes for our use with matching pool towels with orchids on top! since it was my husbands b-day the hotel had a bucket of ice chilled two individual small bottles of champagne flutes with a box of hawaiian chocolates to honor his special day!! what a nice personal touch!! i had my daily newspaper he had all the coffee he could drink throughout the day at the lobby. we went to the aqua bamboos thursday cocktail party with hawaiian music complementary chair massage and caricature along with snacks and their signature drink. since the location was ideal we walked different directions every night for drinks dinner. sometimes unexpectly we would come across a event that we attended such as a show on the beach one night or a ohana night at a nearby hotel. WE LOVE THIS PLACE!! JOY WAS GREAT !
