The staff was wonderful, very helpful and hospitable considering our lack of Italian language skills. Room was well kept although HVAC was not user friendly. Neighborhood noisy so open windows were out of the question. Very large number of 'ethnic' NW Asians hanging around. Women might not want to venture out alone at night. Metro is literally just steps away, train Terminee was about 2 blocks. Limited food service outside of bar and breakfast buffet which was very good even for American tastes. Eggs, bacon, cereral. fruit and yogourt along with pastries every day. Could be had as room service for aobut 4 euros per person and they were VERY punctual with delivery so I highly recommend it if you need to get out in timely manner. Room and bath not very large but that goes without saying for Italy and indeed Europe. I've stayed in 5-6 different hotels in Florence, Rome and Venice and this was the first that had more than one tv station in English. Actually had BBC, CNN and National Geographic and some American tv programs dubbed in Italian-ranged from Magnum P.I. to Miami C.S.I. and what seems to be the favorite, Walker, Texas Ranger.
Overall I feel bad for the hotel since local seems to be on decline although all areas near train stations are not the best. In another neighborhood, I would stay there but not where it is. Too bad for staff as welll, they did alot to see that we were happy and helped us find things including transportation, attractions and restaurants. Just do go to the trattoria they recommended to us, Cecio's, it was ok, just not nearly the best I've had in Rome.
