I realized about 8pm the night I was to check in that I had not called the hotel in advance to tell the I would not be arriving until 10pm or later. I called the main reservation line of Best Western and they told me that there is no longer a need for late check in. I check in whenever I arrive. I arrived a few minutes after 10pm and got the largest king-size room of the hotel at the rate given to me online. They also showed me exactly how to get to the airport.

We were stuck in Florida because of the 2010 holiday snowstorm and had to find a hotel near the airport (for a flight that was ultimately canceled anyway). The best western has new-ish decor and a friendly staff, though the rooms are small and the immediate neighborhood is rather dismal. This is a fine place in which to stay if you need to be near the airport but probably not the ideal hotel for a long vacation.

We recently used this motel for accomodations enroute to our cruise line. We arrived at Fort Lauderdale the day before our ship boarding to insure our timely boarding. We called from the airport upon arrival for our courtesy pickup. Told they would be there in 5 or 10 minutes then waited an additional 35 minutes for the courtesy van to arrive. The next day our ship would leave port at 5pm and we were permitted to board anytime between 12 and 4 pm. We woke early to get to the port early via the courtesy van. After waiting in line at the front desk for over 30 minutes we were told we would be driven to Port Everglades at 1pm and that we could wait in a holding room till then. At 1:45 pm we finally left to arrive at the ship after 2:20 pm. Our vacation time is valuable to us and these hours wasted waiting were very disturbing, not a good way to start a vacation. It is very sad because the motel was clean and neat, but very negligent in customer satisfaction.

Stayed here the night before a cruise. Got stuck in a room that smelled like an ashtray. Newer hotel, but not aging well (stains in carpet, scrapes on walls, nicks in furnishings, dirty blanket on bed needing to be replaced.) The automatic coffee maker had cloudy water in the top of it, and was just dirty overall, so I bought my coffee elsewhere (the water should be emptied by the cleaning staff for the next user.) Staff behind desk were arguing with each other while I was checking in, and were not very pleasant. Weight machine in work-out room was broken. The hotel is conveniently located next to the highway (although surprisingly quiet.) Getting in and out of the hotel is a chore, as you cannot cross over the main street, ie, you can only exit and enter from one direction onto a very busy street. Much better choices all around for the same price. I would not use again. I did not partake in the free breakfast after noting substandard cleaning issues elsewhere. Lobby felt like a homeless shelter for indigents. I'm someone who balances positives against negatives, but the two positives this hotel offered (price and proximity to the cruises terminal, restaurants, and drugstores) could be found elsewhere.
