Hotel Cavalletto is next to San Marco Square where all the action is. You can get on a gondolla just outside the hotel and it is adjacent to the Hard Rock Cafe so you can get some American food (nachos). Staff spoke good English and recommended an excellent Italian (pizza & wine) restaurant that was fabulous. It was like the American version of "Cheers". All the locals ate there which is a good sign. Hotel rooms were clean and the staff initially put us in a smaller room w/a twin bed and we had paid for a room w/ a queen bed. Staff moved us and were very accomodating. I would highly recommend this hotel because of the location and value for the money.

I was lucky enough to hear about this hotel thru my travel agent. The location is FANTASTIC. It is just across the bridge into St Mark's Square (less than a 30 second walk). Hotel is a fabulous deal and the location cannot be beat. The gondola drivers park their gondolas outside the hotel door. Staff was very friendly. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

Our stay was such a pleasant one. The staff was very helpful setting up tours and giving directions. The free breakfast was amazing and the rooms were small but beautiful. We look forward to visiting this hotel again.
