11/20/2010Disappointed with the controls and control function of heat/ac window unit. ac unit was noisey and after turning it off the exhaust fan serving the bathroom was noticable.

We arrived well ahead of the check-in time. We were greeted by a friendly reception employee, who really "stone-walled" our check-in. She did not give us honest answers to our questions, and told us that no rooms were available for check-in. She refused to go through the check-in procedure until a room was ready. We explained that we had a late evening engagement, but she was totally uncooperative. When we requested to see the manager, she said he was not available. With 30 seconds, the manager appeared, he checked with housekeeping, and we were told that a room would be available in a few minutes. We then checked in, and then everything about our hotel experience, was more than we could have hoped for.

I stayed at this hotel for a night last week. The room was clean and staff was very friendly at all times. I wanted non-smoking room but they only had smoking at the time. I would definitely recommend that people not stay in the smoking area because guests tend to be noisy at all times of the day and night. This was not the hotel's fault, but I did not have a good night's sleep. A few other minor things- linen not greatest quality (but clean) and 1 coffee cup was dirty. Otherwise, great hotel and great value!

I stayed there with my daughter, so having a clean safe place was really important. Cost was also a major consideration. This hotel was away from the wharf and airport, but if you are looking for something that is less expensive and don't mind a 45 minute drive to the wharf, this is perfect.
