Having just finished 5 months of week long visits to Downtown Houston, I feel it's time to rate my experiences. I initially stayed at the Regency and Doubletree, spending thousands/mo and no equal compensation on value. A friend told me about this BestWestern. Everything he said was spot on. ALL of the staff is super friendly and accommodating. If their is something wrong they will try to make it right. If you need something out of the ordinary you usually don't need to ask, they offer to assist. One week I checked out and left some clothes and when I returned they had been laundered, folded and delivered to my room when I checked back in. They will not charge for basics like bottled water. In fact Mon-Thurs 5-7, they hand out to free drinks to their guests. They'll even surprise you time to time with treats like hot wings or pizza. The rooms are LARGE, clean, and quiet. The beds and bedding are nicer than hotels costing twice as much. You will sleep well here. Convenience? Well, for one, no need to wait for valets, and the parking in FREE. I usually walk to my downtown office, but a shuttle is always available. Fine dining and shopping is only 5 to 10 minutes in any direction. This hotel is for the wise traveler. What you get here is what the hospitality business always strives to deliver, but this Best Western does it better than any of the big guys. Much to their credit, they do all of this without trying to reach in your wallet for every last dollar.I spend 280+ days a year on the road. Take it from me, this place is a cut above and full of value.
