Candlewood sprung a $75 dollar charge on us for our two little dogs, non refundable regardless of damage. I travel with my little guys a lot, and have never had that happen. The pet charge was more than the nightly cost of the room! The "pet area" was on a steep slope that was difficult to manage and keep balance. It was dirty. For such a new hotel, the staff seemed rather burned out. As for the room: It was "okay" clean, but smaller than some rooms of the same price. A little hair in the tub, and no Kleenex. Pretty much charged for each thing at this hotel, things that are included at other hotels. No breakfast: charged for any food you take from the "snack area". The hair dryer is a little wimpy, so you might want to bring your own. The hotel is not near much in the way of shopping or restaurants. Go an exit further into Denver to be nearer to gas stations and food and entertainment. This hotel had lots of HIDDEN COSTS! You think you are getting a deal, but it isn't! They charge for everything! The hotel is almost emptly, but the staff seems put out to help anyone!

I’ve traveled a great deal in the US and some out of the country – in plush, high-priced hotels. This vacation was meant to venture out during the day and have a home feel in the evening to cook our own meals. I’ve never stayed in an extended-stay set up before and was pleasantly surprised. The décor is a personal preference, which I enjoyed the colors and simplistic nature of the grounds and establishment itself. It was very calming and comfortable. We were on the 4th floor, high ceilings, and spacious double queen studio – more space than $200+/night hotels I’ve stayed in. The beds were comfortable and I actually slept extremely well. The room was pristine - the cleanliness was excellent! The kitchen was set up nicely and we utilized it all daily. The only thing I would change would be adding more utensils to the room. However, I understand if there is theft, minimizing the number of utensils is helpful for them. The walls are insolated well – I could not hear my neighborhoods, their TV, or pets. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I loved that it was located in a business park off IH-25 – quick access to Whole Foods, Highland Heights, Denver Downtown, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Red Rock Amphitheater, Golden Gate Canyon State Park – the furthest location was Pikes Peak (1 hour). I have never written a review on anything prior to this review. We stayed a full week and LOVED the Candlewood Suites, the room, the location, the decorations, the feel of it all so much, that I had to write my very first review. I will return to this location and use other Candlewood Suites in the future.

My husband and I chose this hotel based on it being new and having a great weekend rate of $53.00! A we drove up we were struck by the institutional look of the building. No architecture at all. Inside was very clean, but having the same stark plainess as the outside. Decor, even in the rooms, is very light earth tones, almost colorless. The front desk person was cordial. Our room was a regular King. Upon entering it we were struck by the harsh white lighting. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. You can ask for extra feather or firmer pillows. The bathroom was a single sink, having very little room for putting out our toiletries. The room contains a full-sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink, a very nice flat panel TV, a nice desk with swivel office chair, and another large chair. The bedside lighting is on the wall, which made it difficult to reach from the bed. There was one night stand on one side of the bed. Next door, within short walking distance is a Carrebas, an Asian and Mexican rest. .The hotel is across from a golf course and in nicely landscaped business park. It is right next to the 1/25 freeway. On the other side of the freeway is the lovely Park Meadows mall and lots of restuarants and stores. Getting to those places from the hotel requires a little manuevering. Even though it is clearly visible from the highway, it is tucked into the business park. Get a good map and directions.
The pool looked nice. We used the fitness center. It is small with room for about 3 people, with a nice elleptical, treadmill and weight machine. It was quiet.
Good for the executive, but not very romantic.
