My family amd I stayed here during Aug 09 and had a great time. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the room was clean and the little refrigerator was kept stocked with drinks. The bathroom was neat and clean and big enought for me (6'3" 270lbs). In the closet was a safe where we kept our passports while we were out. My wife and I found the bed comfortable and easy to sleep on. They served breakfast every morning that included bread, cheese, meat, coffee, OJ and Danishs. They even had cereal for our son. This hotel is located just off Via Veneto a lovely street with many outdoor cafes and is within easy walking distance to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. There is a Bank ATM and two internet cafes close by. Over all we had a great time in Rome and this hotel was a good part of that. I would recomend the Hotel Caprice to anyone going to Rome.

You pay for the location but not much else...

The location of the hotel is great. It's just along the Via Veneto, a few minutes walk to the Piazza Berbarini, where you can get the subway or one of the many tourist buses that go around the city. The unfortunate thing about the location is that the hotel is right next door to a lap-dancing club, and if that one is closed then there is another one around the corner. If you have kids this may not be the best place for you. The fact is hotels in Rome are expensive and if you want to stay in the middle of the city without mortgaging your house, you're going to have to accept that your room will only be big enough to contain the bed, opening the window will be more effective than the air conditioning, and you're not going to get a good view. This hotel is exactly that. The staff were friendly though and the breakfast consisted of rolls, cereal, some meats and cheeses etc. which was okay. One note is that if you wish to leave your luggage in the hotel (maybe if you have a late flight and want to spend the day seeing the city) they have nowhere secure to store it. We did take the risk of leaving it in the lobby (the staff said they would keep an eye on it) and it was okay, but you should probably still take your important items with you. There is also a safe in the room.
