After a 10 hour flight from NY to Sao Paulo for two and a half days of business my wife and I wanted to get to the beach, but did not have enough time for a trip up to Rio. Guaruja was within our range and means. The Casa Grande hotel made the getaway enjoyable. The beach in Guaruja is beautiful, and the Casa Grande is situated right in the middle of it, away from the two large condo complexes that sit at each end. The staff at the hotel were friendly at check in, had lots of great information about the hotel and our dining plan which included both breakfast and dinner buffets. Many spoke English. Our room was large and comfortable with a king sized bed. Bath and shower were large, clean and always supplied with enough towels, soaps and shampoo. The hotel had both 220 and 110 volt outlets so all of our electronics could easily be charged. A good variety of English programs were available on the TV and a reprinted version of USA was also available. The breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of fruits, breakfast meats and eggs or omlets. The coffee was very good and our cups were always refilled quickly. Dinner buffet was incredible with lots of great choices, we were never disappointed. The beach was beautiful and beach chairs and umbrelas set up quickly for us. Lots to see and do on the beach and local vendors who were not pushy. The hotel pool was clean, warm and refreshing. Great poolside service was the norm. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone doing business in Sao Paulo and need to see something beautiful in Brazil only an hour away.
