I've been staying at this hotel for 20 years and have been rarely been disappointed with the service or amenities. While nowhere near a luxury hotel, the rooms are quite comfortable and both my wife and I commented that the bedding and mattress had been upgraded since our last stay and were very nice. There is also a free breakfast that helps if you want to get out and about without delay. When we visit wine country, we prefer to stay in Calistoga because it still has a rustic feel.

The Lodge in Calistoga offers simple comfortable rooms in a great location. Nothing fancy but well kept. It is nestled in a quite area with the exception of some traffic noise if your room is facing Lincoln Ave. Personally we felt our surroundings quite and peaceful. The pool and steam room are small but again it satisfied. Hotel offers robes and towels which helps on chillier days. A If you are on a budget and dont plan on eating out every night there is a grocery store down the street that offers cheeses salad bar sandwiches etc. that help support your budget plans. If you plan on eating out Calistoga offers numerous of delicious AND affordable restaurants. The Calistoga Inn Restaurant was delish! They have an outdoor seating area that is lit up by strands of light offers music nightly has outdoor heaters for chillier evenings. All the restaurants we tried were outstanding and feel like you cant miss no matter what you choose. Bottom line I was very impressed by how close everything was to the Lodge. Another highlight is access and proximity to the Silvarado trail. Highly recommend taking this trail for your wine adventures. Not as commercial as taking 29 and the views are fantastic. Would come back specifically for the location. Other areas of Napa like Yountville St. Helena are great but Calistoga is less crowded and affordable for what it offers.

The Lodge at Calistoga should not be confused with the Lodge at Indian Springs, which is a beautiful resort with a lovely pool just across the street from the Clarion Property. The Clarion pool is tiny and if you want to use the hot tub you have to call the desk so they can turn on the breaker for you. We refused our room and the management charged us anyway. Not walking distance to town and no outside seating area - stay away from this one.

The Lodge was about $50 dollars cheaper than anything else we could find in the area and it was a bargain for the area. Clean, comfortable rooms, great pool, and the staff was absolutely helpful.
