This is my third year straight staying at this hotel. This hotel has really hit the skids as to cleanliness and upkeep. I can handle the chipping paint but the cobwebs along the wall and ceiling around the bed were gross. I had checked in at 2AM and was not in the mood to change rooms so I cleaned the walls with a wash cloth. As to reservations -- I called them to say I would be arriving very late (around 2AM) and to mark this on my reservation. They did and they also gave my reservation away. So I got a lesser room for the same rate -- lucky me!!!! Andy filthy too!!! On the plus side -- Fay; who works in the kitchen and takes care of breakfast makes you feel like you are at home. She is a real gem and I like seeing her each year. And lastly the bed was old -- it sagged into the center. For a Marriott you don't expect this level of hotel but they do keep their rates low to attract people. Would I return to this hotel for a fourth year? No way. There are too many better hotels around and this one has gone past its prime. But they have the university right there so they will continue to get people staying there. It was a very nice place to stay but I can't see going back when it was so filthy.

stayed 5 nights while visiting family. Front of the complex was nice, as was the lobby. The further into the complex you got, the less cared for. We had a back unit. I thought we checked in in section 8 housing. The walk up to our unit was filthy, glass, trash, old rusty tricycles and kids toys everywhere. There was dirt and glass up the steps to our room. The unit below us, the door was propped open, there were 3 little children left alone in the room with all matters of garbage strewn about the room, dirty diapers in the middle of the floor, shoes, clothes, trash everywhere. Long term guests--Mgmt informed me that mom leaves them alone all the time. Inside our room there was so much furniture that we could barely move. We ended up putting two tables and an ottoman in the closet so we had room for us and our two little kids. Light bulbs were out, dishwasher was falling apart, as was the stove. skillet to make breakfast was missing. Asked for a blender, the one provided to us was so filthy we stuck it under the sink, untouched. The pull out sofa barely had room to pull out. Got 3 towels each day for 4 ppl. The third day there was no housekeeping service. We came back at 10pm after a long day with 4 sweaty dirty people, no clean towels, a sink full of dirty dishes and no way to wash them (we had already used the dishwashing detergent the night before to wash the dusty dishes so they were even fit to eat off of! ) Had to take dishes off the buffet so we could eat in our unit. Management was complacent at best. Will NEVER stay there again!

The kitchen was very nice and surprisingly well equiped. The fridgerator was a full size one. I had a hard wired internet connection which worked the vast majority of the time. I had to climb up stairs to get to my room though. Parking was limited near my room as this is a popular place - if you get in after 8:30 pm, the spaces near your room are all filled up if you are in a building towards the back. The cleanliness was not what I had hoped. I had to ask the maid to clean various parts of the room which she neglected day after day - like the glass doors, the sheets which needed changing, etc. The breakfast food they give you however is very good. I hardly ever had to buy groceries. They had special dinners a few night too with movies. If you bring a pet here do not trust the maids not to let it run loose when they open the doors to clean. I found a small confused and scared dog running towards a very busy and dangerous Maple Ave when the maid let it out. I quickly found the owner who was very grateful.
