We had two double beds in our room and there really wasn't any room for furniture. There was no chair, desk, table, chest of drawers or anywhere to put things. The colors in the hotel lobby and hallways are dark, so be prepared for that. The beds were low, but quite comfortable and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

After only checking in for two hours, the hotel experienced a blackout. Five hours later, still no power in the rooms and no phone service. No generators powering anything, yet the Ralph's supermarket next door was fully lit and so were other nearby buildings. There weren't any emergency lights on in the hallways nor stairwells, which I'm sure is against the law. I shuffled down the stairs with other customers with cell phones as flashlights. The front desk lady promised a full refund of my two nights and that the hotel would contact Travel agency about it. She asked all leaving customers to write their contact info on a clipboard since the hotel computer was off. I couldn't get any help whatsoever from hotel staff as I moved my bags in pitch blackness from my upper floor room down to my car. Even the valet didn't bother to help as I struggled to load my car in the pouring rain. The worst part is that, after four days, the hotel still didn't contact Travel agency about the refund. When Travel agency's customer service spoke to the hotel front desk, they only agreed to a partial credit of the first night! This was an outright lie from what I was told about getiting all nights refunded! And when I spoke to the hotel manager, said I should have returned the next day even though I had already checked out and been promised a full refund! These are absolutely unacceptable conditions during a blackout and inexcusably bad customer service. The less expensive Best Western I checked into was phenomenal compared to this. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!

When I arrived I was greeted in a very friendly manner and told I would be able to check in early. Once they pulled my reservation up and saw I was prepaid through travelocity they suddenly did not have a room for me to check into and were very rude. When I came back later to check in the staff was more friendly. Room is decent, very modern/different. Not sure I would stay again due to the issue regarding the early check in. Wifi is free and quite fast. No room service even though it is advertised as an ammenity. I ordered from retaurant downstairs and was actually quite good.

I stayed here in December . I have to say this is one on the cutest hotels i've ever been to and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Especially the front desk girl, I think her name is Aritza. She alwasy knew where we could go around town, where the locals liked to eat and the best shopping places. This hotel is very central to all of L.A, we were even able to take the public bus (not as bad as it sounds except for some rowdy high school kids) down to Venice and Santa Monica. The Custom also has a pool/ lounge area, although it was too col and windy for a pool party during the day, we did get to go at night and the place was awesome, stiff drinks and nice seating.
