DO NOT stay at this hotel!! It is absolutely disgusting! The room I checked into was a disaster! Mold and mildew were everywhere, there were burns on the TV, the door lock looked as if it had been kicked in at one point, the towels were dirty brown, the bathroom door was barely attached to the hinges, and the nightstand next to the bed was broken and unusable. The smell of mold and mildew was very overpowering. I was shown 2 different rooms, each one as dirty as the next. I was refused a refund by the unprofessional staff and was told the reason being was that I was shown 2 other rooms. You would be better off sleeping in your car. Do yourself a favor and for your own safety, do not even consider this slum! This is, by far, the worst hotel I have ever step foot in.

I can imagine that some travelers on a VERY tight budget might find the compromises they have to make staying at the hotel acceptable. our room's bathroom had a signficant mildew problem. I asked the front desk to change our room. We were given another room to look at, with the same problem, then another and finally when I asked for one more we were given the keys to a room with a faulty electrical system so we couldn't even see the shower walls. We gave up and just stayed in our original room

08/21/2010Hotel is old but clean. the employee's were all very nice. nice pool. refrigerator & microwave were very helpful since i was at duke in class. would stay again.

Very nice stay. Comfortable beds, friendly and hospitable staff. This hotel is located in a very good area, as it is close to both Duke and the downtown area. I enjoyed staying here. I got a good night's rest without any disturbances. The bathrooms were clean, and it had a large, clean pool.
