At midnight on the first night of our stay we were awakened by the blaring of the room alarm clock. The day before checkout we showed up to the room and the cleaning staff was listening to the room clock/radio as she cleaned. That night we once again were awakened by the alarm, about a minute later the alarm went off in the vacant room next to us. We called the front desk to have them come turn it off. Apparently, the cleaning staff had not mastered the on/off/alarm switch and I am sure this is not the first time it has happened. Their internet site listed in room wireless internet as an amenity. It did not work during the 8 days we stayed there. The first few days, we checked with the office to see when it would be working and we were told "technicians were working on it." For 8 days?? Decided to ask the management about it upon checkout, but we were told she was not available. (although she was sitting in the back office) Left my cell number and asked for her to call us, but she did not call. Shocking. I think the internet was never going to work in the rooms and I am quite sure they knew that. Barbecue grills also did not exist which they claim are there. Previous reviews stated the rooms were small. Indeed they are and the bathrooms are VERY moldy. And yes walls are paper thin and you can hear anything in the adjoining room. If you stay, bring bleach, ear plugs, wireless adapter for your laptop (if you want internet in your room) and check the alarm clock before you go to sleep. If you have complaints, keep them to yourself. Management does not care.

Maui's Best Value

If you are looking for Maui's best bang for your money oceanfront hotel that is within 50 yards of one of Maui's best beaches and with great amenities located nearby, the Days Inn is your place. The hotel does not offer much other than a place to sleep and wash up, but right next door is the Mana Kai Hotel, which offers great food at the 5 Palms Restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a general store and beach rentals. The Days Inn is in a quiet location between Kihei and Wailea. The Shops at Wailea is within one mile and downtown Kihei is also very close by. The Days Inn is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of big resorts. The Days Inn is not a resort. It does not offer luaus, food, or things to do. It's simply a place to sleep. The rooms are cleaned everyday; however, your bed linens are only cleaned every three days. They state this is for helping to preserve precious water on the island. The hotel does offer beach towel service. Rooms are small as well as the bathroom, but you are in Maui, get out and enjoy, don't stay in your room! My only complaint, like many others, are the pillows. Bring your own if you can. The nicest thing about the Days Inn other than the value is it located on the beach! Not just any beach, but a very clean beach with snorkeling on the doorstep! There is a Maui Shuttle bus stop located on the grounds. So if the big resorts are not your style and you want a great place to stay with a great beach, Days Inn is worth your money.

My wife and I just got back from Maui Oceanfront. Over all we had a great experience! The hotel is at a premium location - end of Kihei-beginning of Wailea, sits right on one of the beaches of Maui. The rooms are really small - about twice the size of the bed. Still very nice and cozy. For us it didn't matter - just two of us, all we needed was a place to crash at night. The pictures tell you the rest. Some people have mentioned that the bed has one of these very soft mattresses, totally made from foam. I love it, my wife did not really care for it. So the bed is a matter of preference. The staff was friendly, did all they were suppose to do. What really impressed us is a little situation that happened: when we arrived we have realized that the holder of the shower head was broken, so the only way to shower was to hold it by hand. Not a big problem, but an inconvenience. I thought I should go complain, but then got lazy and never did. How surprised we were the next day when we came from the beach! It was all fixed up! We were impressed. We never ate at the restaurant - it's on the expensive side. I guess people like it, it was full every night. Which made it a bit hard to park. From the places to eat nearby we really liked Fred's, especially for their huge breakfasts. And with a coupon you get two for the price of one. So, we can recommend this hotel to people like us - young in spirit and with no kids. Then the size of the rooms is no problem! PS. Make sure you see the sunset!

This is one of my most favorite hotels on Maui. It is situated on THE BEST beach on the entire island, frequented by locals and some lucky tourists alike. Ya, the rooms are small, but how much room does one need for sleeping? They are impeccably clean and decorated very nicely. Whatever you do do not turn on your AC at night! Open those windows and let the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves soothe you! I love having a small refridgerator, and the laundry facility is perfect. I found the staff accomodating and friendly, as well. The owner has just replaced all of the mattresses with some new-fangled VERY COMFORTABLE ones. I love this place!
