OK, except Bedbugs...

I initally was satified with the room for the price. The shower heads are low for me (I am 6'), but that was no big deal. Free WiFi was slow, but acceptable. A man with a laptop was walking around outside trying to find a decent signal... Coffee maker, fridge and microwave were OK. So, the third AM (of 4 booked), I woke up and turned on the TV. I saw something crawling along the sheet ... A bedbug! I placed it in a ziplock, but had to leave. My father, who was staying with me, took it to the front desk. They offered to give half the stay free. They then changed thier mind to one day free and move us to an upgraded room. THEN they changed to one day free and move to similar room. The manager suggested to my dad that maybe WE brought them in! He complained that now they had to pay to have the place cleaned. We checked out that day, one day early, laundered our clothes and stayed elsewhere for our last night... Upon finding the bedbug, I checked the bed and dresser. Found no more, but only had minutes to research this on the slow WiFi and to look before checkout time. When I moved stuff around, there were a lot of crumbs and general filth that you often find in hotels when you really look. I was more dissapointed at the poor customer service than the bedbug. The manager made more excuses than apologies and tried to downplay the situation. My second day home, but still have not brough my bags into the house... I'd say the other review of this hotel was fair. With no bedbugs, I'd rate it 3. But no value in wasted time at the laundrymat.

The hotel was very easy to find and had easy on/off from I-35, and the room was a little dingy but okay for the price. But other than that I wasn't impressed. The pool, which is one of the main things we wanted, had no water in it. The showerhead was at about nose level and I'm not that tall. They had one soda machine, which was out of order, and there were no high chairs in the breakfast room. When I finally tracked down someone from the front desk, they told me they had no high chairs at all. With all that and the strip club next door, this is definitely not a place I would bring my family to again.
