It looks better on the picture. The room was really small. When I booked the hotel I was not notified that the hotel was under repairs. I couln't enjoy the terrace because my view was blocked because of the repairs on the front of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was good, it is very centric and if you don't want to spend to much money, there are some small restaurant where you can have kebahs, the subway is very close, almost on the corner on the street I believe. We stay in this hotel in the new year, so it was kind of noisy outside. In general, is a good option if you want something centric and close to the subway but it is overpriced for the quality of the room (old furniture, extremely small).

I was taking a bit of a risk since there were no prior reviews of this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've heard alot of no-so-great stories of european (and French) hotels and staff. This hotel surpassed my expectations. Every staff member from those at the desk to the breakfast guy to the maids were very polite and attentive. They made us feel welcome and very at home in their hotel. We ended up joking around and having conversation with some of the gals at the front desk they were so sweet and fun. They speak english and are very gracious for those that don't speak french. I was helped with activity reservations, airport taxis, directions, local advice, dining.
The lobby, lounge, breakfast room are very beautiful, clean and comfortable. The rooms don't reflect the same stylishness as common areas, but are consistent with European standards and still pleasant to be in. The rooms are a bit small by American standards but nothing that is unreasonable. I've had smaller rooms. The bathrooms are really clean- no shower doors for the basic rooms, but not a problem. Rooms were cleaned daily and kept pretty spottless. Front facing rooms have a nice view of the neighborhood. If noise is an issue, you should request a room on the sides or back of the hotel as the clubs and restaurants in the alleys directly in front of the hotel are very noisy and stay lively all night until early morning (6am). Website says "soundproofed" rooms, that wasn't my experience.
All in all, I had a fantastic experience at this hotel and I am picky! Location is great- close to the river and "central" paris, 15 steps to metro. Make sure to eat at Chez Max on St. Honore 1.5 blocks down.
