First of all, staff was really awesome. From the shuttle driver/bell masters, gift shop owner, receptionist, restaurant waitresses, etc.. everyone was super friendly and nice. And to me, that counts the most - whether the staff is willing to help you out or not - so I gave them 5 stars overall. Room quality, bed and cleanliness was standard, no real complaints there, except the TV was unplugged and I had to plug it myself - kinda annoying (I understand keeping iron & coffee maker unplugged, but TV?? that was kinda .. weird). I didn't do any other activities (man, if I knew there was a pool, I would have brought my bathing suit), so can't judge there. Location was pretty good to me because it was really close to University of Vermont (my destination), not to mention they had a free shuttle to the hospital so close to the campus. I guess it would a better location if it was near shops and cafe (I had to walk 15min in the cold to get starbuck's coffee from Barnes & Nobles).

My reservations were for a double club level room but they did not have a double club level available when I checked in. The room they gave me was next to the pool so the room smelled like chlorine and was noisy with pool activity until the pool closed. The headboard was pulled away from the wall and rattled everytime I turned over in bed. Upon speaking to the staff at checkout- they offered me the free breakfast that I would have had as a Club level customer OR Starwood points. I opted for the points since we were checking out but I haven't seen them yet (it's only been a couple of days).

I booked this hotel for our honeymoon hoping that Shereaton held up to its usual quality reputation. I was wrong. Here are the reasons: as we entered the hotel, we noticed worn and drabby looking carpeting that appeared dated and in need of updating. I felt like this was a hotel that is not interested in renovation but charging a hefty price for its name. As we entered the down the hallway, room doors were worn and dreary with cheap looking wallpaper ceiling borders, c'mon that went out in the late 70's. Our room was horrible... the safety latch was fastened hastily, and was loose, the toilet seat cover enamel was worn down to the black and was cracked, their were exposed water sprinkler pipes over my bed, and the old wallpaper and drabby paint on the ceiling needed updating. Pricey. What really got me was their were no anemities. Everywhere I travel to has a free continental breakfast, not here! we went to the hotel restaurant to check the prices; rediculously expensive, in fact, no one was in there. For the price you pay for this place I would never come here again. This place is good if your corporate business is picking up the bill, or if you're a college student looking to party into the night. We absolutely hated it here, we were very disappointed. Please stay away from this place, a waste of money. Oh by the way, one of the beds was on a slant, we used it for our luggage.

We had a wonderful stay. The room was clean and nice and roomy. If I had to make any complaint it would be that the halls had a funny smell but it didn't effect the room at all. The pool was wonderful. We would definately stay there again. Hopefully in the fall. It was a very busy weekend but the hotel wasn't far away from downtown and there was a shuttle bus stop not far from the hotel. We had our own car but it is good to know for next time.
