Doubletree Annapolis Shuttle

The power was out in the hotel when I checked in. I was assigned to 3 rooms before I was given one that was not already occupied. As a Hilton Honors member who travels frequently and is in a Hilton property at least 3 days a week, I was disappointed.

We stayed at this hotel in April 2009 and I cannot say enough good things about it! I never noticed the "thin walls" the previous reviewer mentioned. I slept like a baby! My daughter will be attending Anne Arundel Community Collge in the fall and we visited Annapolis to tour the campus, find her a place to live and take in the sights. The price cannot be beat for this type of hotel. I used to travel extensively around the US and this hotel is a great bargain!

When we checked in (exactly at 4:00) we were told that although we'd booked a King room, there were none available at the time, so we could either check into a double room or wait a bit and get one after it was cleaned. When we got to the front desk again after idling for half an hour in the bar, the same receptionist told us that there were no King rooms at all, because the hotel had been overbooked. When I inquired why we had been told we could wait for one, she responded that there had been NO rooms available when we first tried to check in ;which was decidedly NOT what she had told us at the time. It seemed pretty clear that she had just given our room away, and I would have felt better if she had just admitted an honest mistake. I understand that she could not help it if the hotel was overbooked - there were several wedding parties there that weekend&- , and having a double room was not a problem, but we were miffed that we sat and waited for absolutely no reason. She was decidely unapologetic although, when I pressed the issue, offered us coupons for the breakfast buffet, which helped.
