  The Doubletree is close to everything you want to see & visit. Great service and very polite staff. Rooms were spacious and very clean. We will stay there again on our next trip to Charleston.

  At $* my expectations were high. I was underwhelmed by the furnishings and details which were not compensated for by the cookies. The staff was polite and accomodating and the rooms were clean. Perfectly adequate for a place to sleep and great location but I expected more at this rate and would stay elsewhere when I return. This location was selected by the convention I attended

  We stayed here last month for an in town wedding. Suite was spacious and beds awesome. Bath was so-so. Hotel is classic and nice, clean and in the middle of the street market area which you can explore thoroughly in about 30 minutes. Cruise ships in walking distance. However, only a handful of decent restaurants nearby. All are expensive. Hotel meals are high. You cannot park your own car. You are obliged to pay 20 dollar per day fee PLUS valets expect 5 dollar tip every time they park and retrieve your car. AWFUL if you have kids and wedding activities requiring lots of in and outs. There is no chain store shopping anywhere nearby making this inconvenient for practical families. Free computer access near lobby with printers, but didn't always work. Wifi is only free in the lobby. Room access costs too much.

  Doubletree suites is next to the marketplace and ideally located within walking distance to historic sites and a wide variety of excellent restaurants. highly recommended.
