• Great location, but where's my warm welcome???

  I stayed at this hotel last may 2010 and must say the location is a great plus, del mar is peaceful - not as crowded as downtown or other san diego ...

  i stayed at this hotel last May 2010 and must say the location is a great plus, del Mar is peaceful - not as crowded as downtown or other san diego areas, and the hotel's location (right off I-5) makes it perfect for transportation to main attractions in the area. My only complaint would be the poor service i received at the front desk. The person at the counter (male, in his 40's) was not even kind enough to respond my polite "Good afternoon, how are you?" - bad start! He did not seem to pay a lot of attention to me or my sister (both of us in our mid twenty's) - and he examined us from head to toe as we were checking in... very rude. Anyway, he was the only lowlight from this hotel! Cookies at the check in were delicious, hotel was clean and safe - very close to plenty of restaurants and convenience stores
