The location was good, just one block walk to the Alamo and the Riverwalk a couple more blocks away. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. The lobby was welcoming. There was also a computer in the lobby where boarding passes could be printed. Complimentary Breakfast offered a selection from eggs and fixings, to cereal, fruit, yogurt etc Some weeknights the hotel provides complimentary wine, beer and snacks. The night we attended there were chips and queso, turkey and ham sandwiches, chili and more. This hotel was excellent value.

The Residence Inn Alamo Plaza proved to be an exceptional choice. The convenience of location was complimented by employees that were pleasant, personable and helpful; recognized immediately when checking in and experienced thoughout the week. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening strolls along the riverwalk and the excellent food choices to experience. Our room ( 1 bedroom) was spacious, well kept and quite comfortable to return to after a long day of touring the city and surrounding areas...very interesting and beautiful. Each day kicked off with a great breakfast at the Residence Inn and although we rented a car, several days we hopped on the trolley with stop offs at missions and other points of interest; a great way to tour the city and eliminate the stress of dealing with traffic and parking. A future return trip to San Antonio will absolutely include a stay at this Residence Inn.

We went down for my daughters graduation at Lackland AFB. I found the hotel comfortable and the staff very friendly. Great place to stay, close to the Riverwalk and Alamo, I was pleased with the room and would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises.

We stayed at this hotel for the San Antonio Marathon in November 2009. We booked it based on the price, the location (near the Riverwalk), and the fact that they had free breakfast. We arrived two days before the marathon to enjoy San Antonio. When we arrived, we were told that breakfast would be served beginning at 4:30 AM the morning of the marathon. What a pleasant surprise since we thought we'd miss breakfast that morning. The breakfast was pretty much the same each morning, but there was a variety of items -- eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, yogurt, bagels, English muffins, cereal, etc... This hotel is just a couple blocks from the Alamo and the Riverwalk. It is about a mile from Market Square, and maybe 1/2 mile from Tower of the Americas and La Villita. It is all within walking distance (even the Alamodome) Our room was quite roomy, including a full size fridge, a small stove, a small dishwasher, a microwave, high speed internet (free), and much more. It was actually a suite, with a separate bedroom. Everything was clean, though a bit dated. It was very comfortable and the staff were excellent. The only negative to this hotel was the parking. It is $18 per day, but that is pretty typical in downtown San Antonio. The Hampton Inn across the street has their own parking lot. There is a parking lot across the street that is $5 a day, but there is no coming and going (not necessary if you plan to stay downtown, though). They raised the price on day 2 of our stay to $10, though (for the marathon), but there is free street parking on Sundays. So, we paid $15 total for the weekend. Overall, excellent hotel!!!

Great "bang for your buck." The hotel was clean and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was an easy walking distance; from The Alamo, the Riverwalk and Rivercenter Mall. This hotel is very near the freeway; for quick and easy access to all areas of San Antonio. The parking garage is connected to the hotel which made for easy check-in and check-out. The only drawback was the pool. At a maximum depth of 3.5 feet the adults in our party were not able to enjoy it but the kids had a great time splashing around. Overall this was an excellent hotel and we will consider it strongly the next time we visit the San Antonio area.
