Stayed here in May for 2 days. The first room they gave us was on the first floor and very noisy so they moved us up. The floors of the rooms are all marble and look very pretty whne you check in. The problem comes when people are walking on the marble floors above you and you can hear every footstep. We had very high expectations of this facility. Any hotel can sell itself as a "resort", this is NOT a resort. We asked for blankets the second night we were there. No blankets were delivered so we went to the front desk and asked again. The clerk said he could not leave to get blankets because he "had to watch the security cameras". We checked out the next morning. They still billed me for 5 nights even though we stayed 2 and received bad service. The work-out facilities are a joke. A few of the machines that were there were in disrepair and unuseable. I would not recommend this hotel under any circumstances.

The best aspect of hotel is the location! 5 minutes to the Mediterranean – rocky beach, bring towel from home or buy one; do not use one from the hotel or you will be charged. 10 minute walk to train station. Many good restaurants, groceries, ATMs nearby. Don’t expect friendly or consistent service – even Europeans expressed disappointment in staff courtesy. Be sure breakfast is included if you want that – take proof to breakfast – or you will be expected to produce a credit card. The room was very clean, fresh linens and generally what you would expect of a 4 star hotel. Shower controls an engineering nightmare (confirmed by others we chatted with) after 3 days we had to ask for more soap… We booked on-line (a Consult Suite); then we were “upgraded” to Presidential Suite, which reverted to Consult, although they overtly intimated we had a Presidential Suite even at check-in / walk through. Be aware of what you are paying for and take documentation. The rooms were large enough and the kitchen a bonus – you have a sink & dishes but no dish soap or towels. There was a fridge, stove-top & microwave; The bed / pillows are very firm and some street noise but OK. Block-out blinds a godsend with first-day jetlag. AC worked great and even in late May happy to have it. TV stations quite limited – never found news – and all chanels in French. The pool / work-out area exists but very minimal - exactly 16 lounges on the deck. Overall: good hotel: great location, not really 4 star (more like 3+ for Europe), probably a good value for the location, do your research, reserve early & take your booking in writing. Bon Chance!

I dreamed of a romantic vacation on the French Riviera with my girlfriend and the Goldstar was the perfect place to make that romantic dream come true. The room was spacious, clean and luxurious. The staff was extremely helpful and the service second to none. Our rate included breakfast and we had the option of going to the resturaunt or havinbg it sent to our room. We opted for the room service. Each morning I'd call for our breakfast and it seemd that no sooner did I hang up the phone the doorbell would ring with our fresh pastries and awesome coffee which we enjoyed while people watching from our window. We stayed in January so we didn't get a chance to use the roof top pool. The pool itself is small but there is ample room to spread out and catch some rays when the weather is nice.
The location is excellent just 3 blocks from the promenade / beach. A short walk to old town or the train station makes the location perfect! I highly reccomend this hotel you won't be disapointed.
